evelyn51 Posted June 22, 2016 #477 Share Posted June 22, 2016 Yuuup. We thought about waiting but when we saw how long you actually get to ride the bumper cars we split. I think it was maybe 2 minutes. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app Are the bumper cars open when most cruisers are in port? We prefer to stay aboard, and enjoy less crowds. :)
GatorWop Posted June 22, 2016 #478 Share Posted June 22, 2016 Are the bumper cars open when most cruisers are in port? We prefer to stay aboard, and enjoy less crowds. :) Negative. Sitting in Labadee right now, which is our last port and no bumper cars, roller skating or trapeze sessions while in port.

Is that a Labadee only? I would guess that some of the sports staff would be running activities on shore which may cause Seaplex to be shut down on a port day. Rip Cord, North Star and Flowrider are only offerings while in port.
CapitalKyle Posted June 22, 2016 Author #482 Share Posted June 22, 2016 (edited) Okay as promised, FINALLY, some pictures of the onboard art which caught my attention. This is by no means comprehensive but these are the ones I liked the most! I considered "art" to be anything designed in an intriguing or artistic way. So this could be anything from an actual art installation, to the entrance to a restaurant or venue, even a ceiling! Ceiling above the Royal Esplanade: The "heartbeat chandelier" at the aft entrance to the Esplanade, Deck 5: Light fixture and wall decorated in Music Hall style, near forward elevators on Deck 4: These two are the passageway between the Esplanade and Music Hall, heading forward on Deck 4 port side: Edited June 22, 2016 by CapitalKyle
CapitalKyle Posted June 22, 2016 Author #483 Share Posted June 22, 2016 (edited) Outside the forward elevator lobby (Deck 4 or 5 I think?) Stairwell: Between the Esplanade and the aft elevators, Deck 5: Opposite wall from the installation above, between the Esplanade and the aft elevators, Deck 5: Floor of the entrance to American Icon Grill restaurant: Edited June 22, 2016 by CapitalKyle
CapitalKyle Posted June 22, 2016 Author #484 Share Posted June 22, 2016 Art piece hanging in the stairwell between American Icon Grill and Silk, Deck 4 aft. Head down the stairs to Deck 3 for Chic and The Grande: Stairwell art: Stairwell art. This is one of my favorites: Art wall in Two70. This faces the 2-story windows at the back: Stairwell art. This is another one of my favorites:
CapitalKyle Posted June 22, 2016 Author #485 Share Posted June 22, 2016 Stairwell art: CARPE DIEM!! Deck 15 port side, just aft of where the SeaPlex Dog House sticks out of the wall. Gigi qualifies as art! Wall art, I believe between the aft elevator bank and the Esplanade. Deck 5? Outside (just aft) of Wonderland, Deck 5. When we boarded this was immediately to our right after stepping onto the ship.
CapitalKyle Posted June 22, 2016 Author #486 Share Posted June 22, 2016 I don't remember what it's called, but it's smack in the middle of The Via. Deck 5: There's even art on the ceiling! This is Anthem's version of the butterflies on Quantum, in the walkway between The Via and the aft elevator bank: And this is what those little trees on the ceiling are leading to... aft elevator bank, picture taken from Deck 5 I think. MAN does this thing sparkle: Maybe an early predecessor to the gigantic moving head now residing on Harmony of the Seas' Royal Promenade? Solarium, Deck 14. Stairwell art:
CapitalKyle Posted June 22, 2016 Author #487 Share Posted June 22, 2016 Stairwell art. I believe this is near the Spa/Gym area: Stairwell art: More stairwell art. Chanel! Twisted picture frame, near the Esplanade Deck 5. It's on the opposite side from Wonderland, and I think the intention was for it to be themed with Wonderland: Little seating area next to Vintages, just aft of The Via. Interesting enough for me to consider it art!
CapitalKyle Posted June 22, 2016 Author #488 Share Posted June 22, 2016 These are all stairwell art pieces. This ship had by far the most interesting and compelling stairwell art I've experienced: This one lit up:
CapitalKyle Posted June 22, 2016 Author #489 Share Posted June 22, 2016 Last few. More stairwell art: Well that does it! Again, not a comprehensive collection of the art onboard, or even all of the stairwell art, but the ones I found more interesting or beautiful. :D
islesgrrl Posted June 22, 2016 #490 Share Posted June 22, 2016 Beautiful! I love your choices of what "qualifies" as art ... I'm sailing in 3 days, and these pics just got me completely amped up!!! Cannot wait to see them in person on Saturday ... thank you!!! [emoji847]
DataStar Posted June 22, 2016 #491 Share Posted June 22, 2016 Linda and I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you, Kyle. You put a lot of time and work into your postings and your photos, and they've really helped us to prep for our first Anthem trip in August. I hope our paths cross on some future cruise. I suspect that we would both be filling up a bunch of memory cards. So Linda and I say THANKS, KYLE!!!! You've set a high bar for anyone's future reviews or photos of the ship. Regards, Linda & Alan

[emoji847] Thank YOU for following along and commenting :D Two days! Aaaah! I am so very jealous. I hope you have a fabulous time and please say hi to those two bartenders at Bionic Bar for me. They were so quiet but always so accommodating  In all seriousness, though, Susie at the Music Hall main bar (Deck 3) is the best bartender on the ship. Make sure to stop by!
