Freeport 7:am to 7:30

This will be our first time to Freeport and the time is short considering we will need to be back on the ship at 12:30 p.m. for 1:30 sail away.

 

We were going to do a snorkeling tour, but decided against it. Now thinking straw market and beach (what beach). We aren't big shoppers so not sure about this.

 

What can anyone suggest to do for this short period of time?

Hi Nancy - I'm on the ship with you. :)

 

There is a small straw market/shopping area right at the port. It's fine for an hour or so of time. There is also a Fat Tuesdays there. Other than that there is not much to do at the port. There is no beach in walking distance.

 

We bought day passes for the Grand Lucayan resort. We are taking a taxi over. It's $25 for pool and beach access. We will only have a few hours there, but we are looking for a laid back day.

 

I believe there are some other beaches in the area that you could get to via taxi.

 

There are some beach excursions through Carnival. They would certainly make sure you are back on time.

The Grand Lucayan is very nice and there is a big shopping center across the street. See website for Lucaya Marketplace.

Have you done your excursion / day trip day to Grand Lucayan yet? Thinking of doing this in three weeks. Did you buy directly from the hotle or through and excursion company?
