Multiple Embarkation Ports

We are sailing on the Epic in July embarking in Rome which I hear is the less popular embarkation port. I have never been on a cruise where it wasn't the same cruisers for the whole trip. Can anyone speak to how this changes the overall cruise experience? It seems so strange to me!

I've only ever embarked on that cruise in Barcelona but over the years, Rome has become more popular for embarkation. I think you will find there are quite a number of people joining with you.

How it affects you depends a lot on yourself. One thing a lot of people mention is that the main sail away party is not in your embarkation day. That may be an issue, or it may not bother you at all.

There are little things like the freestyle daily being numbered from Barcelona which shouldn't really affect much.

Muster Drill is quite different. Yours will be held in somewhere like the theatre, whereas in Barcelona the whole ship closes down for the drill. If you are onboard that may be an issue. Get the drinks in beforehand :)

Basically, if you follow the ships schedule (Sail away, welcome aboard shows etc) then some things could be a bit odd. If not then it really shouldn't make any difference at all.
