Shore Excursions are Pay Before You Sail, Or Pay Later Onboard

Excursions often go up in price as the cruise date comes closer. Excursions booked in advance get their price locked in, it has nothing to do with paying in advance.

Yes price is locked in but they sometimes also offer a 5% discount if you pay in advance. It's still refundable if you cancel.

Was that for every excursion or just the ones that involved a flight? You've always had to pay early for those and there's no cancellation after a certain date.

Yes, it's for EVERY excursion! Just on our ship this summer as a test :(

Last cruise I was short some points on my princess visa to attain the next level for another $50 in obc. So I prepaid an excursion to get 2x points credit. At least got something in return.
