Magic - Balcony on deck 6

Has anyone stayed in a balcony on deck 6? I recently booked the Magic and chose a deck 6 balcony and thinknow the made a huge mistake.

I just realized that we probably won't have the ability to see directly down to the water. [emoji22]

Now I am wondering if I should have chosen a cove balcony instead.

We had a balcony on deck 6 at the Carnival Dream and when you look directly down from your balcony the deck 5 promenade was there of course.

But it didn't bother us because you still had awesone views of the ocean.

If you want to be able to look directly at the ocean beneath you a cove balcony is the only option.

Thank you, I will look into changing it.

Depending on location, you may have noise from deck 5.

I'm booked in a cove balcony for a June sailing on the Magic.

What I have read, is to be careful which cove you choose, as some of them are directly below the galley and can apparently be noisy.

Have a great cruise :)

We were just on the Breeze and it was totally booked. We had the balcony gaurantee. We got one of the balconies directly above the BBQ. I mean, literally, the blue awning was directly below our balcony. I ate breakfast most mornings on the balcony, had nothing but gorgeous views with my salmon and fruit. The occassion when i was in our cabin during the day, i may have been sipping friendly juice, so it gave me a chance to chat people up that happened to be walking by. At night, it was quiet and peaceful. Definitely not noisy. We just booked the Magic for next April, i wanted a cove, however Committee shot that down. We got a spa balcony. My parents had one one the Breeze with us last month, it WAS really nice. I will get a cove balcony at some point, but the gist is, you will be fine with a balcony on 6.

Yes. Half of the coves are below the galley. Some spots below the galley are fine, and some are very noisy even during the overnight. To avoid being below the galley, simply choose a cove forward from the midship elevators. The galley starts right where the midship elevators are at, and continue on back to where the coves end. Below the dining room is my favorite spot.

I have will a balcony on deck 6 at the end of the month. Just noticed deck 5 has a lot of public areas. Anybody had trouble with noise on deck 6?

It depends on where you're at. Above the dance club would be very bad, since it runs very late into the overnight. Above the theater is fine throughout the overnight; only noisy during evening shows & daytime practices. Above the casino could get some noise anytime, but might not be that bad, depending on what's directly below. Above the comedy club/karaoke room would be noisy from the evenings until about 1am or so.

If you are booked on the Dream class or the Vista, then your balcony could also look right out onto a hot tub. Depending on what guests are using the hot tub while you're using your balcony, that could be quite annoying. Even if there isn't a hot tub there, there is still a public deck. For me, I don't like looking down from a balcony & seeing a public deck sticking out just one deck below me. Some people don't mind it, but that's not what I want in a balcony. I see that as less valuable than a porthole room. If you are not booked on Dream, Magic, Breeze, or Vista, then you won't have that public deck sticking out; you'll have a clear view of the ocean when looking down.

We did have quite Some noise from loud music below us.

Were not sure what it could have been, maybe the dance club or maybe the band playing at the lanai.

But for me the noise wasn't so loud that i couldn't sleep.

We had a deck 6 balcony on the Breeze. Forward, above the theatre. We liked the location. We heard noise from theatre but it stopped after last show. I guess around 11ish, so we still got a good nights rest. We were at the part where the promenade on deck 5 started to narrow so we got more of that sea view and not alot of foot traffic!! :)
