gambee Posted May 14, 2016 Author #26 Share Posted May 14, 2016 No wait time on taste, keep that in mind. The Garden Cafe was packed! We headed out. Mom was rolling my computer bag, and I had the two heavy carry-ons.

gambee Posted May 14, 2016 Author #28 Share Posted May 14, 2016 We went through the pool area, more on that later. There is an extreme amount of live entertainment on the ship, the most that I have ever seen. LOVED IT!!!
gambee Posted May 14, 2016 Author #29 Share Posted May 14, 2016 The gym is the same hallway as the Spa. I really wanted to go to the gym. Now that I am not working anymore, I really have to push myself to be more active and such. But again, I failed at even going once to the gym. I spoke to a few people and they all had the same concern. It is very crowded in there, and your best bet to finding machines is early at 6am when everyone is hangover. But even going at lunch time it was busy, or so I heard. The funny thing is that when we went through it, I told mom how small it was for a ship that size. By the way, our sailing had 5,200 passengers on-board. I believe double occupancy is at 4,400.
gambee Posted May 14, 2016 Author #30 Share Posted May 14, 2016 Here is the Spa. A few in our group got it and had a good time there, but just know that it is a quiet area. There is no bar or anything there. Someone also complained about the sauna having a draining problem, and it basically had a little puddle in there at all times. The other thing that shocked me was that I was told not to take pictures in there. But here is the thing, they told me not to take pictures after they saw me taking pictures of the broken down Snow room. Be aware if it's still broken, you can get a partial refund for your passes. From what I heard people were getting back a significant partial refund. But again, this is just word of mouth, don’t take me for a fact. I could have gotten the information wrong, word of mouth is never a trusted source. The one last complaint I heard, was that one person went into the salt room for 10 minutes and his eyes were dry and red for the 2 hours. In a way that makes sense, with all that salt in the environment pulling out the liquids from your body. I went there for a couple of minutes, but felt no effect on my eyes. My personal opinion of the spa was that it was larger than the Breakaway one, and the temperature was very comfortable. I thought it was a really nice area with plenty of space to move around and relax. I am just not sure that I would enjoy being inside rather than outside. gambee Posted May 14, 2016 Author #33 Share Posted May 14, 2016 Where is the Booze? Here is when I was told not to take pictures. I actually went inside the snow room, it wasn't even cold. Maybe that is why she got upset, oooppsss, LoL
chet the jet Posted May 14, 2016 #34 Share Posted May 14, 2016 Will be reading your review. We will be on there Aug 28 and we will have the room next to you 14886. gambee Posted May 14, 2016 Author #38 Share Posted May 14, 2016 We were pretty hungry by then, but I wanted to get all my work done quickly. So we went down to deck 5 to check out the kids' area. Unfortunately, I don’t have any second hand information about the area as I did not speak to any parents about it. That said the area was really nice. Here are the kids and teens activities papers. gambee Posted May 14, 2016 Author #40 Share Posted May 14, 2016 This is the hallway. By the way I also heard that the family rooms on deck 5 are really nice and spacious. One of the cabin stewards said they could 5 comfortably.

gambee Posted May 14, 2016 Author #43 Share Posted May 14, 2016 The entire area was really nice and large. There is actually a lot more, but there were several parents there with their kids.
NYGirl1002 Posted May 14, 2016 #44 Share Posted May 14, 2016 I'm so happy that you've started your review Gambee. As usual, the pictures are beautiful! Happy Birthday to Gambee's mom.
gambee Posted May 14, 2016 Author #45 Share Posted May 14, 2016 Just one thing to note is that this area has no windows, or at least none that I could see. However, the teen area does on deck 17.
gambee Posted May 14, 2016 Author #46 Share Posted May 14, 2016 We then decided to head to lunch. We discussed it and thought that the MDR was our best chance at avoiding the crowds. And right we were, there was absolutely no wait whatsoever!
gambee Posted May 14, 2016 Author #47 Share Posted May 14, 2016 They gave us a nice table by the window, unfortunately the view was not that good. Oh well. Something a bit annoying is that for Vibe they give you an additional key card, so you have two cards to keep and eye on. Not to mention the bracelet that you have to wear during the cruise. Service was excellent, fast, efficient and friendly. If this was a sign of the entire cruise, then I knew it would be a great one. Popcorn shrimp, very tasty. Of course mom ate most of mine, because in all her wisdom she decided to get a soup as she usually does
gambee Posted May 14, 2016 Author #48 Share Posted May 14, 2016 Her soup was good, but it was a soup, lol. Making use of our drink package with the first drinks of the cruise. My long island. Mom’s mojito. We both got fish and chips, which were excellent! As you can see mom was already on her second mojito. Again, service was unlike anything I have experienced on NCL, it rivaled Disney! Maybe even better!

gambee Posted May 14, 2016 Author #50 Share Posted May 14, 2016 For dessert I got the key lime pie? It was good, but in all honesty, I don't do desserts on ships. Maybe that is how I stay stable. All my desserts come in liquid form :D Mom’s fruits. After eating lunch we decided to go to the room, I think it was around 2pm. This was one of the most exciting event of this cruise. As I told you mom had no clue about the balcony room. So this was my plan. I figured I take her to an inside room and attempt to open it, once that failed, I told her that we should go get our cards fixed. On the way to get our cards fix I would stop at a “random” room and tell her to open it. That room would open and that would be the surprise. My plan worked too well. I told her I was taking pictures to get her reaction of the room, since that was our first inside since our first cruise. Here she is trying to open the inside room. We tried both cards. But nothing. Good thing there was no one inside there, otherwise I would have a fun time explaining why I was trying to get into their room :D
