78232 Posted May 15, 2016 #1 Share Posted May 15, 2016 I am planning to purchase some tequila while in Mexico. I understand that it will be kept by the cruise line until I am ready to return home...but exactly when do they return it? I am assuming that it has to be packed in checked luggage prior to arrival at the airport. This is my first time to purchase liquor while on a cruise. Years ago I had some amazing tequila in Acapulco that I have never been able to find in the US and I am hoping to buy some in Puerto Vallarta. jtl513 Posted May 15, 2016 #2 Share Posted May 15, 2016 (edited) We've always gotten ours before dinner on the night before debarkation. If you don't see it then, ask your steward. Once when we bought Tequila in our last port, two days before debarkation, they didn't bother to take it from us in the first place. . ellieanne Posted May 15, 2016 #3 Share Posted May 15, 2016 I've always had to give it over to the people at the table after you clear the x-ray getting back on board. I gave them my cabin number and a proof of purchase and the bottles have been returned to me in a box the last night of the cruise well before checked bags have to be placed outside your cabin. Krazy Kruizers Posted May 15, 2016 #4 Share Posted May 15, 2016 Even though we no longer bring bottles of alcohol home with us, I have seen the stewards delivering the bottles right around dinner time when they start to make up the cabins for the evening.
