trvldog Posted May 15, 2016 #1 Share Posted May 15, 2016 (edited) I have a friend on a the Reflection cruise with us and their husband might not be able to go due to work, but still wants her to go and take a friend instead. Sailing date is December, (not a holiday cruise) however they have paid in full. BUT also have the insurance taken out with Celebrity. Can she make a name change from her husband to a friend or would she have to cancel and rebook? Going to call later but thought I would ask first. Could not find anything on website. Thing is, rates have gone up about 350 per person from our original booking so trying to avoid any increase. Any help is greatly appreciated thank you! Algebralovr Posted May 15, 2016 #2 Share Posted May 15, 2016 Not an issue. One name change is allowed even after final payment. I think you have until just a few days bedore departure. We were able to change the name on a holiday sailing around Thanksgiving (November ) this last year. Sent from my SM-N910P using Tapatalk
Rare Cruise Raider Posted May 15, 2016 #3 Share Posted May 15, 2016 As long as one of the original passengers is still sailing, there would be no problem to swap out one passenger for another. I think if after final payment date, there might be a small charge (maybe $50), but if not until December, that won't even be an issue. If you've signed up for the insurance through Celebrity, you haven't paid for it as of yet (due at final payment) so you won't be out that money either. I traveled with some friends once and of one of the couples, her husband just didn't want to go. It was after final payment and they had no problem just letting her switch the name on the reservation over to a friend of hers. I think the charge was like $50 ... but only because final payment had already been made.

BrendaJ Posted May 16, 2016 #5 Share Posted May 16, 2016 Yes, we did it once a few weeks before sailing, after final payment, and the charge was $50.
