Lidodeckdrinks Posted May 19, 2016 #29 Share Posted May 19, 2016 We are currently on the Aluure of the Seas and dined in Coastal Kitchen last evening as Jr Suite guests. Excellent service and food and a great evening meal with beautiful views. But as Diamond Plus members, we were not allowed to order Happy Hour drinks as we would in the Dimond Club. The restaurant manager explained this to us after we inquired if we could get wine. We were given a wine list with pricing by the glass or by the bottle. He also explained that we were more then welcome to bring our Diamond Plus gift bottle of wine on our next visit. He explained that these are the new rules that went into affect May 1st. However, if you have access to the Suite Lounge (Star Class or above), since CK shares space with the Suite Lounge, you can get included drinks from the Suite Lounge on the other side of the room and bring them over to your table at CK. Suite Lounge offers beer and wine from 11am to 11pm, and certain spirits between, I think, 5pm and 8pm. Maybe the server would have even brought the included drinks to my table from the Suite Lounge portion of the room, but I didn't ask him to. kmorg1234 Posted May 19, 2016 #32 Share Posted May 19, 2016 I like that "no towel check-out" policy for JS. Hope that becomes fleet policy. Bob, That whole towel check out thing just totally irks me. First, these towels are the ugliest, most worn towels I've ever experienced on any cruise ship or resort in the world- Really, why would you charge someone $25 for a $5 towel? Second, if you trust people with better looking towels, you will gain their respect to return them. People are inherently honest.

Second, if you trust people with better looking towels, you will gain their respect to return them. People are inherently honest. Too many people are lazy. We were one an Adventure cruise that had a stop in St. Croix. There is a beach just to the left of the pier, easy walking distance. I remember looking back at the beach during sailaway and seeing a sea of blue towels on the beach.

Corklou Posted May 19, 2016 #37 Share Posted May 19, 2016 when you return your towels at the end of the cruise , do you need to get some form of receipt so that you are not charged the 25 dollar per towel ?
Clarea Posted May 19, 2016 #38 Share Posted May 19, 2016 (edited) when you return your towels at the end of the cruise , do you need to get some form of receipt so that you are not charged the 25 dollar per towel ? They swipe your SeaPass card to take the towel(s) off your account. However, I always ask them to double check if they show a zero count when we turn in our towels for good. Clarea Posted May 21, 2016 #42 Share Posted May 21, 2016 Does anyone know if there is a Coastal Kitchen menu posted anywhere? Also can we bring guests who aren't in suite? This is very close to what we had on Oasis: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showpost.php?p=46820719&postcount=31 With regard to guests, check with the Coastal Kitchen host or hostess about the guest policy. radtech Posted May 22, 2016 #43 Share Posted May 22, 2016 Had a great cruise on Allure last week, the ship is just awesome, couple things of interest ..... We had JS 8242, same deck as Central Park,we had a 1 minute walk to park cafe and the specialty restaurants, very convenient. We bought the 3 night dining pkg, worked out great As a JS guest we had access to the Coastal Kitchen,it is first rate! Don't miss it Also a new suite perk for JS is the new card, just show it at the towel stand no check in or out of towels. The Diamond program is same as it has been, no changes. The upgrade toiletries were very nice. Mama Mia was a full length 2 1/2 hour show, very well done.it does get cold in that theatre, bring a jacket. We also went to the Meet and Mingle, highly recommend, free event, maybe 30 min, hosted by the cruise director staff, gave away free wine, champagne and RC logo crap,it was fun, sign up and go ! do you have any pictures of your room we are sailing in a JS on Oasis 8240 center suite hump
