Iberian Treasures ..City heavy?

Looking at the Iberian Treasures cruise taking in Gibraltar, Vigo, Lisbon, Porto and Huelva-Spain.

 

Immediate impression is that none of the ports appear to have the relaxing beauty of Thira (Santorini), the appeal of Ajaccio, cobbled and ancient streets of Dubrovnik or the splendour of Venice.

 

I know in saying that i'm probably doing Lisbon a disservice but we prefer to hop off the ship to explore the areas closest to the ship rather than catch buses or have to trek too far.

 

Has anybody done this itinerary that can put a more positive spin on it?

Have just booked to do this itinerary in 12 days time and will write all my thoughts once we return. Only Vigo and Huelva will be new to us.

 

Have previously berthed at Porto, Lisbon and Gibraltar. At Lisbon the ship docks very close to the city centre so easy to walk in or, for more fun, take the San Francisco style tram. Porto is a half hours shuttle bus ride from the dock but really lovely when you get there and well worth visiting. In Gibraltar you can walk to Main Street in 20 minutes from the cruise terminal or the port provides a shuttle bus to Casement Square (bottom of Main Street) with a fare of £4 return.
