1stime cruiser Posted May 24, 2016 #1 Share Posted May 24, 2016 Is it me or are the Carnival Vista prices higher than previous new ships Carnival has rolled out?
loubetti Posted May 24, 2016 #2 Share Posted May 24, 2016 Um.... Carnival doesn't roll out a new ship every year, and this one is their largest, most expensive to build yet. Why would one expect the prices not to be higher than the last one? Ya' sort of have to pay for the ship and have a ROI on it, don't you?
loubetti Posted May 24, 2016 #3 Share Posted May 24, 2016 Let me also add that the market will pay the higher prices for the biggest and newest. You charge what you feel the market will accept under the current economic conditions. New ship = higher prices. Carnival Breeze is OLD news. Why compare new / larger to former? Jimmy Geegitz Posted May 24, 2016 #6 Share Posted May 24, 2016 We got an aft wrap on the Vista for less than we paid for just a regular aft on the Sunshine. But we had to book 18 months out.

Thank goodness it is paid for Once you place a deposit, you are price protected. Sending the balance to Carnival early does nothing but alleviate "worriers" but of course it's everyone's personal choice.
tncap Posted May 25, 2016 #10 Share Posted May 25, 2016 I booked the transatlantic on opening day and got an excellent solo rate.
Nauti Grrl Posted June 11, 2016 #11 Share Posted June 11, 2016 Our friends booked this repositioning NYC-MIA cruise first. Then Carnival dropped the price so we booked OV amidships deck 1 which was only deck available. Came out to less than $100 per day per person which I consider a bargain for a brand new ship. vwrestler171 Posted June 11, 2016 #12 Share Posted June 11, 2016 When I booked, the prices weren't anymore than the same cruise on Breeze. Granted since so many people are booking the prices have SOARED up. If I was to book the same cruise now, it would be over $1500 more than I paid. RumpunchGirl Posted June 14, 2016 #13 Share Posted June 14, 2016 We booked our January 2017 6 day cruise last July. $879 pp Havana Extended Aft Balcony. I thought it was reasonable compared to the NCL Owners suite I had last January.
cruizinisthebest Posted June 14, 2016 #14 Share Posted June 14, 2016 The last new ship came out in 2012. Prices for cruising overall is higher even since last year. You can find decent deals but not often. Makes perfect sense prices for the Vista would be higher than when the Breeze debut years ago.

The Tool Man Posted September 9, 2016 #18 Share Posted September 9, 2016 I was looking to book the 8-day Southern Caribbean for March 2018 in a Havana Balcony, but they're around $1600pp. Too much for that cabin, I think.

We booked our Vista cruise the day the dates became open and we have the same result - both of our cabins have gone up by $1500 - we are so glad we booked when we did. Really would have to have thought about it more if the prices were at today's level.
