Anthem of The Seas - May 14-21 Bermuda, Boston, NYC - My Opinion

Recommended Posts

Take your time and go when you're ready.

The beach is big so even on the busiest of days you just walk a little further down the beach to find a great spot. It's my favorite beach and I'm going twice when we sail Anthem in July.It always amazes me that it can be sunny and 90 degrees and still the sand is cool to walk on.

As far as chairs and umbrellas, I've never had an issue getting them, regardless of when I arrived.

Just before stepping onto the beach, you'll see the place to rent them to your right. I was there last July, but forget the prices. I was with a group and I rented 6 chairs and 3 umbrellas. The water was so warm and beautiful that we barely spent any time in our chairs. Such a great place!

Have fun!

thanks so much for the review........we sail in a week. We were on quantum in 2014 with our four kids and had a nice time, imagining this will be even better since we are leaving them home :) and thanks for the Horseshoe van info, that is what we plan to do as well. Do you think you need to arrive early at Horseshoe to get chairs/umbrella, it will be a Saturday but we are the only ship in port from what I can tell. We leave in a week!! need to start packing :)

thank you so much.....have been to Bermuda a few times and never have seen this beach.......its time :) plus I hate the stress of having to get to certain excursions at certain times etc.... life is scheduled enough, its a vacation for a reason ;)

Would you recommend the vans as well.......we took the bus last time out to Elbow Beach area and it was relentlessly slow and stopped so often......never again

Thank your for your review. We currently have Dynamic Choice for our upcoming cruise and I was wondering if I should try to get Classic instead. Sounds like Choice is working fine with reservations.

As others have said, just go to the end of the pier when you get off the ship and you'll see the line of people for taxis. There will be vehicles of varying sizes coming and going to accommodate groups of any size. It goes pretty quickly and you'll be off to the beach. $7 pp. Easy as pie. Coming back is just as easy. No worries

Enjoyed your detailed review, we were also on the same sailing, had a great time, loved the itinerary, loved going to Cape Cod when we were docked in Boston and booked the same itinerary next year in April. Appreciate the info on the Thermal suite, did not make it to the Spa "yet". Saw Pool attendants removing items from chairs at outdoor pool on sea days.

I have to also agree with you 100% about the singer in the casino, he is totally awesome and one of the reasons why we booked this cruise 3 weeks before the sail date. This sailing was a Club Royale Golf event, which is why the casino was packed nightly. Andy is hired by CR for some of their events and this was our 4th time seeing him perform. Saw him performing in the casino on Quantum, Liberty and Allure. Andy will be back performing on Anthem Oct 15 2016, for CR's Golf event, which we booked.

Also agreed with you that Anthem did not deserved all the negative reviews just because it was different, IMO.

If you have classic late dining, do you miss the "dance parties"?

Is it worth purchasing the WOW bands?

Is it true mixed drinks ran about $14.00 ? seems high

thanks so much!

I found the Wow bands to be useful when opening up our cabin door if my hands were full and when playing slots, you tap the sensor with the Wow band to track your points, which you can use your sea pass in either case. You can not use the Wow band to get on or off the ship, must use your sea pass.

I do know Sangria in Vintages with grats. was $13 and another drink I ordered, forgot what it was, with grats. was $15. For me, I don't drink much, so no need for a drink package.

I would also recommend the vans as well to Horseshore Bay.

Thanks for the review. How was the weather sailing out of New York and in Bermuda? Were the seas choppy? Since I'm prone to seasickness am worried sailing out of NYC in May. Thanks.

The weather and the seas are unpredictable for any given month sailing out of NJ. IMO, on this sailing we thought the seas were fine, but we like a little motion in the ocean, we like to know we are on a cruise ship and not on land. If you are prone to seasickness, you can get some medication free at Guest Services. I did not see any Barf bags in the hallways or on the steps at all on this sailing so it was not choppy.

Great review, thanks!

What restaurant do you think is the most romantic? We're going to be on Anthem for an anniversary cruise and I'm interested in hearing what you think would be best and most romantic for my foodie husband.

We always enjoy eating at Wonderland, romantic, a little.
