Carnival Dream - social media package

We leave Sunday on the Carnival Dream. Is the $5 a day social media package available on this ship? I need to have a way for my kids to contact me in case of emergency back home. This is much cheaper than an international texting plan or the e-mailing package. Do I use this social media package through the Carnival Hub app? Or, do I just click on the "facebook" icon on my phone desktop? I'm a little confused on how it works on a ship.

Don't think the app works for Dream yet but yes the $5 package is available and actually discounted if you purchase it for the whole cruise. Once logged in, yes, you just open the apps like you would any other time on your phone -- just not all apps will work, only the social ones.

We used the social media plan this past week on the Magic. It was very easy to buy and use from a smart phone.

Just connect to the ships wifi, and when you try and go to a website, it will ask if you want to upgrade to a plan, just select the social plan and it will walk you through what to do. Very easy process.

Yes they have the package on the dream. It worked very well for us. We used it between 2 different phones, just can't have both logged on at the same time.

Yes, but only one device can be logged in at the same time.

Just off Magic. Social package was $25 for the week.
