We are looking at booking an inside cabin on one of the 4 small Oceania ships (all identical deck plans). We noticed that these 4 cabins have blank areas next to them. Does anyone know if these spaces have some sort of noisy equipment etc making these cabins less desirable (these cabins are available while most of the other inside cabins are not). Thanks in advance

The tank of the Swimming pool is the area just aft of 8014/8017, but I've spent a lot of time in those pools and the filtering mechanism is very quiet.

Otherwise, as on every deck, those white area's consist of numerous Service Pantry's plus Storage lockers for cleaning supplies along with the occasional crew staircase. Mechanical items share the space too, but think plumbing, ventilation and electrical, nothing louder than the occasional electric motor.

You may want to have a look at the Azamara forum, someone has taken the trouble to start a sticky about all the cabins and a spreadsheet is updated regularly. As these ships are identical to the four small Oceania ships you can check peoples comments about each individual cabin and their recommendations.
