john watson Posted June 9, 2016 #2 Share Posted June 9, 2016 In general you can guesstimate they are not on first night. Favourite nights for them to be held on thereafter will be sea days. Regards John
Thejuggler Posted June 9, 2016 #3 Share Posted June 9, 2016 (edited) Not first and not last and you won't have them back to back. IIRC night 2 and night 6. Edited June 9, 2016 by Thejuggler
Southampton 75 Posted June 9, 2016 #4 Share Posted June 9, 2016 Britannia to the Fjords in April. Sailed Saturday and formal nights were the Sunday and Thursday. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did :)
Toppers mum Posted June 9, 2016 #5 Share Posted June 9, 2016 I think we are on the same cruise as you and I believe it's the Monday evening (sea day) and the Friday evening ( Stavanger).
Kittyonions Posted June 11, 2016 #6 Share Posted June 11, 2016 On Azura fiords cruise in May, the 2nd formal night was a themed Black and White night. Very easy for the guys, but a bit difficult for the ladies if you have brought lovely coloured evening wear.
Scriv Posted June 11, 2016 #7 Share Posted June 11, 2016 The black and white theme isn't compulsory though, although a lot do.
Toppers mum Posted June 11, 2016 #8 Share Posted June 11, 2016 I thought that the black and white themed night was separate to the two formal nights? Might have to go shopping (again)!
Scriv Posted June 11, 2016 #9 Share Posted June 11, 2016 On our last cruise it was on formal night.
The Med Posted June 11, 2016 #10 Share Posted June 11, 2016 I thought that the black and white themed night was separate to the two formal nights? Might have to go shopping (again)! Can anyone confirm this? We are going on Saturday and I have 2 long dresses for the formal nights and one of those is black and white. If the black and white night is not a formal night then I need to rethink the outfits.
Scriv Posted June 12, 2016 #11 Share Posted June 12, 2016 (edited) https://ask.pocruises.com/help/life-on-board/theme_nights : Black and White These are always on our formal evenings, and you are most likely to find gentleman in tuxedo’s or black suits. You could also wear all white, or all black, ladies can do exactly the same. They have always been on a Formal Night in my experience.
