We are on Azura in 3 weeks for the Fjords cruise - So we can plan evening meals etc does anyone know what nights the formal nights usually are?

 

I know we have 2.

In general you can guesstimate they are not on first night. Favourite nights for them to be held on thereafter will be sea days.

Not first and not last and you won't have them back to back. IIRC night 2 and night 6.

Britannia to the Fjords in April. Sailed Saturday and formal nights were the Sunday and Thursday.

I think we are on the same cruise as you and I believe it's the Monday evening (sea day) and the Friday evening ( Stavanger).

On Azura fiords cruise in May, the 2nd formal night was a themed Black and White night. Very easy for the guys, but a bit difficult for the ladies if you have brought lovely coloured evening wear.

The black and white theme isn't compulsory though, although a lot do.

We are going on Saturday and I have 2 long dresses for the formal nights and one of those is black and white.

 

If the black and white night is not a formal night then I need to rethink the outfits.

These are always on our formal evenings, and you are most likely to find gentleman in tuxedo’s or black suits. You could also wear all white, or all black, ladies can do exactly the same.

 

They have always been on a Formal Night in my experience.
