Thank you!!! I'm on that ship and thought all was normal. Princess dropped the ball on this one, no one notified. Once again, Cruise Critic is the BEST SOURCE.

 

Glad my husband shuttered the house yesterday, now we can "evacuate". A ship beats the superdome anyday.

Been watching the web cam on the Star. It's after 2 p.m. in FFL and the ship is still in port.

Hopefully the ship can stay long enough for all passengers to board.

Maybe they are waiting for passengers. Fox news reported the port is closing at 3:00 pm.

We'll know very soon as it is nearing 3 there. I know from a reliable source that they hope something may change to allow more time for passengers to get there.

I can see her out of our dining room windows. Weather is still gorgeous here in FLL.....the calm before the storm.

 

As soon as I hear the whistle blow, I'll post an update..

Had a phone message from a friend working on the Star. Said they plan to leave at 4pm today. Will go to Costa Maya instead of Cozumel.

And hopefully with all passengers on board.

At least they were able to extend the departure time past the 2 p.m. time. When you look at everything from the past 24 hours it helps to know the situation is monitored continually by the staff and port authorities. Could be part of the reason it makes it difficult to say with absolute certainty what could happen, especially during an active hurricane season.

Incredible! I sure hope everyone got on before she left. We sailed her on the 9th - when she was late getting into port. They have had a few rocky weeks to say the least. Having 8 cruises behind me I have learned to fly down to FL the day before just in case something comes up....this fall is proof of that! The change in ports is not a bad thing. I have been watching the cams from work since we came home! I haven't been too productive since we came back up north....My heart is still on that ship :)

 

Let's hope the weather improves!
