I am going to be on the Carnival Legend to Alaska for my first cruise and will be taking my parents along. My mother has some mobility issues, but in general can walk and take elevators fine. We are on deck 5, fairly close to the elevators.

When we get on the ship for the first time, what deck will we be on? Is if Deck 4, the main deck? Is it the same for shore excursions? We will be leaving from Seattle if that matters.

Thanks

I sailed on Legend in 2003! If memory serves it was deck 2(?) You generally board into the lobby area. it would not be Main deck as that is all cabins.

I can't remember how we went ashore. I think the deck below 1 (Riviera).

There is elevator access to all.

You will be directed to the access point. No need to worry about it in advance! You can't change it. Go with the flow.

At ports, they will tell you where to go....elevators go to all the decks. It's not the big deal you are thinking it is!

You can request wheelchair assistance for embarkation and disembarkation. The ship provides a wheelchair and pusher so you mom can avoid the long, possibly steep ramps for boarding. For excursions it's not such a problem because the gangway for port days is very close to the level of the dock and the elevators will take you down there.
