rye_guy81 Posted July 1, 2016 #1 Share Posted July 1, 2016 is it true we can avoid these USDA scanners if we are coming directly from the cruise ship and still have our disembarking tags on our suitcases? Thanks

OHCruisin Posted July 1, 2016 #3 Share Posted July 1, 2016 That hasn't been true for many years. It's why ships can't do luggage valet in SJ (tagged from the ship and sent right to your airline).
Weluv2cruise2gether Posted July 1, 2016 #4 Share Posted July 1, 2016 (edited) Still must go through the USDA screeners in San Juan and also in Hononlulu even though you just came off a ship. We were subjected to this at both places. No biggie! If you don't have anything to hide it only takes a few minutes. rye_guy81 Posted July 1, 2016 Author #5 Share Posted July 1, 2016 Great Thank you just trying to plan what time to book flight for I know there is only 2 ships debarking but we are Canadian so cannot use self assist but think a 1130/noon flight should be okay
Loralye Posted July 1, 2016 #6 Share Posted July 1, 2016 It's easy and only takes a few minutes. Just be sure that you do the screening once you walk in the door. Some folks pass it up, go in line to check luggage then are told they need to go to screening.... That is really the only delay.
