Miami to FLL - Saturday 7/16

I will be disembarking Carnival Splendor at POM on Saturday, 7/16. I have a late flight (7pm) out of FLL. I plan to spend the day in Miami and I'm wondering how much travel time I should allow. Are there any events scheduled that day that will impact travel? Any other tips would be greatly appreciated. TIA

First consideration is how will you get around with your luggage? You might consider renting a car for the day if for no other reason than to store your luggage.

If you will be spending time in South Beach before heading to FLL there is a luggage lounge there that will store your bags for a fee.

You need to leave Miami by 4PM allowing an hour for the trip between the two cities and arriving two hours early.

 

The FLL airport is PACKED on Sunday evenings.
