kaitysmommy2001 Posted July 2, 2016 #1 Share Posted July 2, 2016 We will be on a 9 day early September on Anthem and I am set on a whale watching excursion. Obviously no sightings are guaranteed but I'd certainly like the best shot. Any suggestions of where to book? I was leaning towards booking through RCI for one in Halifax, but I was reading sightings were rare in that area. Thanks for any insight!
Paraveina Posted July 4, 2016 #2 Share Posted July 4, 2016 For Saint John, you'd likely want to go out of St. Andrews, which is approximately two hours round trip. http://www.tourismnewbrunswick.ca/Do/OutdoorActivities/WhalesAndWildlife.aspx Click on "See more whales & wildlife experiences" to see all the options. You wouldn't want any of the options from Deer Island, Grand Manan or Campobello Island, as ferries are involved and if it breaks down, chances are you'll be stuck overnight. maryann ns Posted July 4, 2016 #3 Share Posted July 4, 2016 Neither Saint John or Halifax is good for whale watching. You want to be near the mouth of the Bay of Fundy (such as St. Andrews, New Brunswick) or the west coast of Cape Breton. https://www.tripadvisor.ca/Travel-g154967-c219541/Nova-Scotia:Canada:Learning.About.The.Bay.Of.Fundy.html
