martikus Posted July 4, 2016 #1 Share Posted July 4, 2016 (edited) We are looking forward to being in Bermuda next Wednesday via the Breakaway. This is our first time going with our child. In the past, DH & I would just rent mopeds and zip around the island stopping wherever the mood took us. With 9 year old in tow we're planning a much different visit. Thanks to these boards we have a boston whaler rented for the afternoon of day 1 (fingers crossed for good weather). Mini Bus ? - We'd like to visit the caves early on day 2. I saw in one of the other posts the fixed fees for the "mini bus" to various locations. We were thinking we may prefer this than navigating the ferry/buses on the day we visit the caves with our 9 year old. However - am I correct in assuming that we can only take it there? We'd have to bus/ferry it back since there would be no mini bus waiting for us whenever we are ready to return? Horseshoe Bay ? - We are thinking we'd enjoy some of the smaller coves to the left of Horseshoe Bay (when looking out at the water). Are they a fairly long walk from Horseshoe Bay? We are thinking we'd like to end back at HB in case we are hungry or to take the van up the hill to the bus. But think the little coves might be more fun for our son. Thank you! As far as the Minibus. If you can get a minimum of 7 they will take you at the rates on the sign. I will put it below again. Probably would still take you at a higher rate. As far as the return some people have mentioned arranging a return pickup. These things are negotiable. The Minibuses are privately owned. What one driver might do another might not. You could also take a taxi. Or take the ferry to St. George's or Hamilton and a taxi from St. George's or Hamilton to the caves. As far as the distance to the coves to the left. To me they are not far, but that is relative. Start walking and stop when you feel you have walked enough.
