Hello! We are just off the 12 day Grand Mediterranean cruise from Barcelona to Venice. We cruised June 24- July 6. Had the time of our lives. We are a family of 4, kids ages 14 and 17. Does anybody have any questions?

We are doing the same cruise September 6-18th. Was wondering about the Venice airport? Was it bad? I have been seeing a lot of posts about renovations there! would love to hear your experience if you flew out of Marco Polo at end of your cruise

Thanks

Renee

We did fly out of Marco Polo. It is under construction but that didn't seem to be too much of a hassle. We flew Air Canada and their check in counter is downstairs so we had a ways to walk to get there. Overall I thought it was a pretty easy airport to navigate if you read the signs. It is spread out depending on what airline you are flying so there can be some walking involved. My one piece of advice would be to get any shopping and eating done before you go through passport control. Once through passport control there is one cafe counter restaurant and one duty free shop. Have fun!!!

Did NCL offer a transport from the Venice pier to the airport? If so, do you recall how much?

Also which day was the laundry special? We sail next Monday so these are my few remaining questions. Thanks

We were in port in Rome from 8 am- 7 pm. We took a train into Rome on our own and it was super easy. In Athens, the port is about a 30-40 minute drive to the Acropolis area.

I'm sure NCL does offer transportation to the airport. We stayed in Venice an extra night and arranged a land taxi through our hotel. It was 55 Euros from the bus station area to the airport. Water taxis are about double that.

The laundry day was the day we were in Naples. You had to have it ready to go by noon that day. You will get the bag the night before with your daily.

Have fun! It's a great trip!!
