Regal Aft Balconies- anyone have comments?

We are contemplating a Caribbean cruise on the Regal and we are

dedicated Aft fans. I have noticed the many different sizes of balconies

on the Princess web site for the Regal's deck plans. Some of the aft

balconies look bigger than others ( we will not be booking a corner suite).

Can anyone comment?

From what I have gathered from other comments, some balconies are

4 feet deep in varying area and some of the Aft balconies look just as

small. Do not want to book and then be disappointed.

We have been on the Golden and Crown and are used to those.

Thank you in advance!

Aft balconies on the Regal and Royal are significantly different from the Grand class ships. Marina and Riviera deck aft balconies are fully uncovered and approximately 9'x9'. Marina deck balconies are fully visible at the railing of the Horizon Terrace above. There is a space between the middle two cabins that adds about another 2' to the width of those two balconies. Aloha, Caribe and Emerald deck balconies are fully uncovered and approximately 9'x5'. Baja and Dolphin deck balconies are essentially the same as Caribe deck balconies on Grand class ship, slightly more than half covered and approximately 9'x9'. I believe that the middle two cabins on Aloha and Baja deck also have the additional space as the Marina and Riviera deck. There is also the "dreaded soot problem". Don't know how much of a problem it is.

We were in a Premium Deluxe Balcony (B736, if I remember correctly), and loved it. No soot at all. Very large balcony. We usually choose mini-suites, but I would stay there again just for the balcony.

We had D729 & D731 on our last Regal cruise. Huge covered balconys. No soot issues. Loved them!!

SiBreeze-

I appreciate your comment... I have read so much about the unusable

aft balconies on the Royal. So, it sounds like Princess fixed that on the Regal?

With your comment, our friends and we booked D728 and D729.

It is heartbreaking to read Royal aft comments as they say they can not

be used and ask for OBC. That would be such a waste of money and disappointment.

We have this very same cabin this December for our first B2B. We were in the owners suite (B734) last December.
