Galveston and bringing sodas

How strict is Galveston about bringing sodas on board ?

You are usually OK with canned soda, however I'd still put them in a checked bag.

We brought a 12 pack of coke on the liberty in May not a problem.

I always bring a 7 pack of Starbucks double shots on board, never a problem.

5 cruises out of Galveston, no problem bringing canned soda.

Can you place luggage tag on the 12 pack? Or pack in a bag? I'm concerned about a can being opened inside my bag when the luggage is jostled getting on ship and to room. We always buy a package but the fountain cokes were terrible on Navigator past 3 cruises .

On our last cruise (Grandeur) I packed a 12 pack of water in a duffel bag that I bought at Walmart for $10...if a soda does explode you aren't out much.
