Taxes, Fees, Expenses

We will typically see an odd amount of credit on our S&S when we board (example: 3.84, per person), and I think this is for changing taxes, fees, and port expenses.

What if these go up in price? one of our current bookings is +$2.51/pp.

I think Carnival eats it. I've never been charged more in port charges once onboard vs. what I paid when I booked. I've only ever received credits.

The only time we've seen port charges and fees go up is when we contact our PVP for a price drop and our final payment amount is adjusted. Then, we always have extra obc because, inevitably, they go down again.

On our upcoming 13day Journeys cruise they changed our itinerary from stopping at Colon, Panama to a partial transit of the Panama Canal - this caused the port fees to go WAY up...fortunately we booked prior to the change so only had to pay the original fees.

If we make any changes at all, we'll then get charged for the additional amount.
