There seem to be a number of walking tours (and even walking/dining tours) offered, and I'm considering my options for seeing this part of the city. We did a private walking tour with a local guide in this neighborhood and our tour ended near St Marcos square. We enjoyed the backstreets and it's a working class neighborhood of Venice, so you will see Venice from another perspective. We did this on our own with info that we found on the Internet and also from Rick Steves Venice guide book. If you go there you will be given a mirror to hold up and view the ceiling paintings.
