San Francisco Hotels in January 2017

Hi all. We're working on plans for the Grand Princess departing on 9 January 2017 and are trying to find a hotel for a few nights pre-cruise.

 

In the past, we've been able to get something fairly reasonable in the city, but this time I can't seem to find anything less than $400/night. Even the good airport hotels are in the $250/night range...

 

Is there something special going on that week in San Francisco??

Using the pricing tools on TripAdvisor I was able to find the Galleria Park, Cornell Hotel de France, Argonaut, Hotel Vitale, Phoenix Hotel, Columbus Motor Hotel, Club Quarters and many, many other fine places for under $300 Jan 5-9.

 

I would get to TA (Cruise Critic's parent company) quickly and get those deals.
