jeepers13 Posted August 2, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 2, 2016 I know it's not the usual question, but our return flight doesn't leave until 6pm, and we'd like to enjoy the ship as long as we can. Any thoughts?
NBlewett Posted August 2, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 2, 2016 Well, the longer you're on board, the longer it will take for the next cruise to board. But I think I've read NLT 0945 or 1000 and that's pushing it

Any thoughts? Those later flights are a bummer. There really isn't anything to enjoy on the ship the morning of debarkation. The atmosphere is very different than the other days of the cruise. Nothing is open and you basically just vacate your cabin, eat breakfast and wait in your area with your carry ons for your tag number/color to be called and exit the ship. Everyone is usually off by 10:00 as the new cruisers are anxious to get on and start their vacation.
Linsuesue Posted August 2, 2016 #4 Share Posted August 2, 2016 You could tour the Queen Mary right next to where the Miracle docks. That would take a good chunk of time and you can walk to it.

Would Carnival hold your luggage while you toured the Queen Mary?

Any thoughts? Not an unusual question, sorry. Remember how you wanted to get on to "enjoy the ship"? Well, the next group feels the same. All the workers can't do all their jobs until the last passenger is off.
jdemps Posted August 3, 2016 #10 Share Posted August 3, 2016 We leave our room at 8:30ish, get breakfast on lido and get off about 9:45 or 10am. I think the important part is to be out of your room by 8:30 so they can turn them. Sometimes we do self assist, others we check the bags in night before. Our bags are sometimes the last bags to be collected if we check them. We are night owls though so don't even think about going back to the room til 2-3am that last night. That's pretty much been the routine on all of our trips but we've only sailed Long Beach, Seattle, Miami and NOLA. Have a great time!
