Cinque Terre Ferry La Spezia

can anyone please tell me if I can purchase a ferry ticket ahead of time or if this is even necessary? Silhouette is docking on Fri Sept 23, I dont think any other large cruise ship is there that day..

It's not necessary, in fact I wouldn't advise it as sometimes the weather and/or sea conditions mean the ferry doesn't run.

 

I would buy it in the terminal building (where the port bus drops you) as it can be a bit of a scramble at the ticket office where you board the ferry.

Starting in late September, sea access to Cinque Terre becomes iffy. I would hold off on buying in advance. In Early May we had to use the train to get between the towns, sea was too rough. It was fun but I'm not sure I would do it again.

We're on your cruise, Aquashores, and we were also planning to take the ferry but now after reading these replies, I'm starting to think the train is a better idea.
