TravelLynn Posted August 20, 2016 Author #2 Share Posted August 20, 2016 Decided to add Adele's Skyfall as a Monaco song since when I think of the Grand Casino in Monte Carlo, I think of 007!
Rare Peregrina651 Posted August 20, 2016 #3 Share Posted August 20, 2016 For the real flavor of Spain, add some flamenco music to your playlist. You might try music by the Gypsy Kings, which is a kind of rock flamenco blend. I like anything they have done (except their rendition of the Sinatra song "My Way"). Also, you might add the ballads of Julio Iglesias, who was very popular in Spain before he made made it onto the international scene. Spanish opera singer Jose Carreras has some popular songs in his repertoire, such as "Granada". I think it is on the original Three Tenors album. For France, get an Edith Piaf version of "La Vie en Rose" --because it was Piaf's song. Also, look for songs from the Eurovision Song Contest. Here's a list of the winning songs over the past half century. There is even one from Monaco and maybe a couple from Greece.
Mrs Miggins Posted August 20, 2016 #4 Share Posted August 20, 2016 Apart from ' Waterloo' by Abba I would doubt very much if anyone in Europe recalls any of the winning Eurovision songs. The evening is good fun but the songs are generally dire!
