What do you poeple of StLucia of whalewatcing near your coast?

Do we have a rather good chance to see these beautiful beasts or do you advise to make another trip (once were at StLucia on a cruise trip and did Spencer Ambrose land and sea tour). Or should we try the whale watching at Dominica?

Depends on time of year - and that will be the same for Dominica. You're almost certainly guaranteed to see Dolphins and flying fish, whales are seasonal, ie Nov-April mostly.

Whether you should try it is up to you. Exodus, SeaSpray, Mystic Man and Captain Tom all offer whale watching trips.

Reedprincess, I see that you are from St Lucia. We were in St Lucia a few years ago at an all-inclusive resort. We tried to go whale watching all week but the tour company was never able to meet the minimum number of people to have the excursion. This was in December over Christmas week.

We will be back in St Lucia in December on an upcoming cruise and would really like to try it again but in general the reviews on Trip Advisor and other sites are very mixed on seeing whales. Your post stated Nov-Apr was good for whale watching. I understand that there will never be a guarantee since they are wild animals, but in your experience, is it worth giving it a shot in December?

Thanks for any insight you might have!

Sure, it's worth a shot, you'll almost certainly see dolphins, but whale sightings are no guarantee. There's a few companies that offer whale watching tours - you can book in advance if you like...Captain Tom's, Exodus, Serenity TVL, Mystic Man, etc.. Good luck...
