cindyblogger Posted August 29, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 29, 2016 I am read through Viking's pre-cruise materials several times and read through this Forum and cannot seem to find out how much Viking Ocean charges for its much-promoted daily beverage packages. Can someone please tell me what to expect this charge to be? Thank you!:)
almelanson Posted August 29, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 29, 2016 The included beverage package, which includes free wine, beer and soft drinks at lunch and dinner is free. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Rare Peregrina651 Posted August 30, 2016 #4 Share Posted August 30, 2016 Here are a few things to help you make your decision: Link to photos from the bar menu June, 2016. Remember: house wines and beers and soft-drinks are free at lunch and dinner. Premium package price does not include wine by the bottle or drinks over $9. Except in the Veranda class staterooms, stateroom mini-bars are re-stocked daily gratis. Bottled water is available each time you leave the ship and filter water is always in your room (sparkling and/or still). You may bring your own bottles on board; there is no corkage fee. These premium package prices are current June, 2016:
cindyblogger Posted August 30, 2016 Author #5 Share Posted August 30, 2016 This is the first time I have seen this advance purchase form. My cruise begins Sept. 4 and all materials I have seen says the package can be purchased on board. Is this so?
cindyblogger Posted August 30, 2016 Author #6 Share Posted August 30, 2016 So we can buy bottled wine on shore and bring it on board? I would not really want this for the dining room, just for personal use in our room.
almelanson Posted August 30, 2016 #7 Share Posted August 30, 2016 You can bring all the wine and beer aboard with no problem. In my opinion, the Silver Beverage Package is not needed unless you spend a lot of time at the bar. Also, the real cost is times 2 since both people in the room must take the Package. My cruise begins Sept. 4 and all materials I have seen says the package can be purchased on board. Is this so? It is not an advance purchase form. It was among the materials waiting for us in our cabin when we arrived. If you do the math, it is about $30 per day per person -- or three to four cocktails per person per day. Since it is so close to your sale date it is probably too late to add the drinks package to your account, just as it is too late to make any changes to your tours or dining reservations. The computer records have been closed so that they can be transferred to the ship. Any changes now have to be done on the ship when you arrive. As far as I understand, yes, you can bring your own bottle of Scotch.
