Passport Question

I'm sure this has been asked and answered many times already, but I never paid attention because I have a passport. However my son and his girlfriend, who are thinking about a cruise to the Bahamas, do not have passports. Will they need on if they're going in the beginning of 2006, or are birth certificates and drivers licenses good enough for identification?

For information on how to get a passport, see above web address.

My travel agent explained to me that it is not the federal government's requirement to have a passport in January 2006, but the cruise line's.(Government does not require them until January 2007)

Check to see if your ship has given a waiver (not requiring passports in 2006). My cruise line gave no waiver, RCL/Celebrity, so my daughter has to get a passport.

Passport color photos can be taken instantly at UPS Stores and you walk out the door with them...no delay whatsoever.

Bring certified birth certificate or old passport if US citizen.
