Princess for Adults?

We are thinking the new Crown for Aug., 5 couples, no children. We have cruised 3 RCL, 1 Celebrity, 1 Cunard, 2 NCL. We love the sound of a new, big ship out of NYC, Brooklyn. How are their policies regarding children? We have spent many a cruise unable to get into a hot tub, as it was full of children. We really like RCL as they have adult only solarium pool and hot tubs. But, their itineraries are very boring. Miami for a day and a half? Why? We are very interested in trying Princess and would appreciate any suggestions. We have two of our five couples who are handicapped and need assistance.

Princess newest and largest ships are probably the most kid-friendly in the fleet, but there are adults-only areas at the spa pool and the aft pool. Enforcement, when parents want to bring their children to those areas is another issue. Princess does not place very many other restrictions on children, other than the casino and certain shows that are of an "adult" nature.

One thing Princess has implemented is a Youth Security team that patrols the ship to keep an eye on teens who are up late.

If you cruise in August on any cruise line on a Caribbean cruise there are going to be lots of children. That is the way it will be if school is not in session. If you don't want children on board don't cruise in the summer. Princess does put a limit on the number of children onboard unlike ohter lines. I don't know about Crown but on some Princess ships they do have some adult only hot tubs.

These ships are not quite as large as the Crown and other Grand Class Princess ships, and are a few years old (not many, and still look brand new due to Princess' upkeep), but do have a lovely pool and hot tub area that is strictly no kids. If you go to Princess.com, click on Ships, then click on Coral or Island you can view them for yourself.

There is a sign at the entrance to the spa pool that states no children allowed. It is an enclosed pool ~ it may have a retractable roof as many Princess ships do, but we were on Coral in Alaska and the roof was always closed so I didn't take notice if it actually could open. I loved this area for an early morning swim and soak in the hot tub, there are extra towels available and it is quiet and adults only.

From what I've read on these boards, the pool you're referring to on the Island is not adults-only. I know the pool on the Sapphire that's under the retractable roof isn't adults-only which was good for the Alaskan cruise because kids want to be able to go in that pool too.
