So our last port day GrandTurk....

So I normally have an excursion planned at every port, researched and planned out to the last detail. I am not sure why this trip but the only excursion I had planned was St. Thomas. Maybe since we didn't have the kids, I just wanted to go with the flow. I had read about the beautiful beaches at grand Turk right when you walk off this ship. My husband is not a big beach person so I didn't want to spend a lot on a private all inclusive beach. But this was my day. I love the beach and had been looking forward to laying on it all day finishing up my book. So we got off the ship early and headed toward the beach. There we 2 ships in port and I think all 7000 people had the same thing in mind I did. It was packed. So we started waking because I wanted to get far enough from Margaritaville and the loud music as possible. We walked until the crowd started to thin out and there were vendors renting chairs and umbrellas. They were $20 for 2 chairs and an umbrella. We found a spot I liked and paid the guy. My husband asked about beer and they had a bucket of 5 beers for another $20,so he got that too. We laid out under the umbrella, me reading my book and him sipping on his beers. The water and beach were beautiful and we had a very great relaxing day. We got in the water several times to cool off and I think we stayed at the beach about 4 1/2 hours. We then headed to Margaritaville to look around and then the port area for tshirts before heading back to the ship. It was a really good day, but the next time I go to grand Turk I will check and see how many ships are in port. If it's more than 1, I will pay to go to a private beach. Even though we had a great day, I prefer a much less crowded beach.

The last night on the ship is sad because you know you have to go back to reality the next day. But we made he most of it. Hanging out at alchemy, Casino, comedy shows, walking around the ship, doing some shopping in the fun shops. It was a great cruise with an amazing crew. Dr. E the cruise director was fantastic! He was the best one we have had so far. So that's my trip, I hope you enjoyed it. If you have any questions about the ship or anything else just let me know and I will try and answer them. I hope to return to the Magic soon!

Loved reading about your fun cruise! We're so excited to be going on her 10/1, Western itinerary. I'm just like you in your desire to

read...My Kindle and I are going on the cruise and bringing my husband along as a guest.

Yes that sounds like me. I finished the 4th Harry Potter book and started the fifth on this cruise. My daughter is a huge fan and wants to go to Harry Potter land in Orlando, so I have to finish the books before we can go.

I have used budget for years, but when I call them tomorrow if they do not offer at least some of my money back, they will loose my business forever.

I have used that Budget several times, did they give you any money back for the second day you were charged, when you called them? I would not have been happy if that happened to me:mad:

Wish I could have sat at the pool and beach with you! Hey! I also read the Harry Potter books back before the movies came out and enjoyed J. K. Rowling's writing! If you're a fan, I just finished a wonderful book by her, penned under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith called The Cuckoo's Calling. I don't often read murder mysteries but her writing is that good.

Thanks for the great review! A belated Happy Anniversary and a Welcome Back to everyday life....til the next cruise!!

I enjoyed your trip report, do you know which dining room is for Your time dining? And you may or may not know, how early are the pools open?

Sailing on Magic in 2 weeks, can't wait!

YTD was in the forward dining room, northern lights. I am not sure about what time to pool opens. We slept in most every day.

What a great review and pictures. I also love Disney and Carnival. We are going on the Magic Aug.26.2017 and we will be turning Platinum on this cruise. I am so excited. I too would contact Budget and let them know that you wrote a review about your much needed Vac. and how it was not fair. Good luck to you and your family. Thanks.
