The Twin Towers were built across the the street which was the Docks or Piers That Housed UNITED FRUIT LINE , PORTO RICO LINE around to South st Was the WARD LINE, with S/S MORRO CASTLE Cunatd LINE on Broadway is a short walking distance A few short blocks south on West Street ,The DOWN TOWN ATHLETIC CLUB Which had many members who were involved in shipping eg, Moran Shipping The area of the WTC shipping history go back to 16th Century It's amazing the WTC connection with ships All in memory of 911 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
SPacificbound Posted September 12, 2016 #8 Share Posted September 12, 2016 (edited) 9/11/2001 to 9//11/2016 I remember so well taking pictures from all sides up on the viewing platform of WTC tower two. Buying a New York City poster that still hangs in our library. The next time we saw it there were huge gaping holes where they were still excavating. There was a cross fashioned out of steel. There was an American flag. The last time was a year ago, and we took guided tours of the Memorial Museum one day and a guided tour of the Memorial grounds and reflection pools the second day.
