sayvan Posted September 18, 2016 #1 Share Posted September 18, 2016 Any recommendations for parking at Port of Miami? Sent from my iPad using Forums
Rare crewsweeper Posted September 18, 2016 #2 Share Posted September 18, 2016 (edited) You driving down from Ontario? Search "parking POM on this forum. lots of threads and opinions. On the expensive side at $20 per day, the port itself is probably the best place to park if you can get covered parking. Reviews of a couple of nearby parking lots are mixed. Cheaper by half, but could be taking a chance. There are a few park and cruise hotels out by the airport. Room rate is a bit higher and you have to use their shuttle to the port and then pay for your own return when you come back. You might also look into long term parking at MIA and taking a taxi/Uber to port and return. Round trip fare eats into savings over port. If you are flying in and thinking of renting a car for your time in Miami, Enterprise and Budget have rental agencies downtown and you can just drop your car there. They may have a shuttle to port or it's a short taxi ride. Edited September 18, 2016 by crewsweeper
sayvan Posted September 18, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted September 18, 2016 Thanks for the info. Not driving but renting a car and keeping it for use after the cruise. It was actually cheaper to keep the car the entire time then to drop it off and pick up a second rental! Sent from my iPad using Forums
sayvan Posted September 18, 2016 Author #4 Share Posted September 18, 2016 Do you have to reserve at the Port or do you just drive up? From what I have read it seems you can drive up and pay when you leave. Sent from my iPad using Forums
Rare crewsweeper Posted September 18, 2016 #5 Share Posted September 18, 2016 That's correct. You drive in and get a ticket an pay when you leave. If you add parking is it still cheaper to rent for a week versus renting twice? There are some good weekly deals around on rentals compared to daily rates, just didn't know if all told you'd really be saving $.
