planterx2 Posted September 20, 2016 #1 Share Posted September 20, 2016 Several months ago we booked the West Indies Explorer cruise. At the time the Veranda, Deluxe Veranda and some of the Penthouse Veranda and Penthouse Jr. Suites were indicated as "Sold". The wording has now changed to "Call for Availability". I have checked the availability off and on over the last few months to see if the ship appeared to be filling up, and one week the "Call for Availability" is shown in several of the room categories and several weeks later all categories show prices. Weeks later will once again show "Call for Availability" and weeks later will again show prices in all categories. So one week it may look like the ship is pretty well sold out and a couple of weeks later it may appear that the ship may have few passengers. What is going on? Are these rooms actually sold? Any ideas? Thanks for your thoughts.
sitraveler Posted September 20, 2016 #2 Share Posted September 20, 2016 Travel agents often reserve or hold cabins anticipating sales. Sometimes even blocks of cabins are held. That could account for cabins becoming available.
