klmb318 Posted September 25, 2016 #1 Share Posted September 25, 2016 Carnival doesn't advertise this, although they should. If you have your cruise card when disembarking at Long Beach, you can get on the Queen Mary for free. They held our luggage while we walked around to investigate the ship and had a wonderful lunch. Many exhibits about the history of the ship, as well as shops. If you want to do any of the actual tours though you do have to pay, although once on the ship it is discounted. Spent about 4 hours onboard after our cruise and before our flight home, enjoyed it very much. They even had a ride waiting for us to go to the airport at a pre-arranged time. suebug17 Posted October 3, 2016 #4 Share Posted October 3, 2016 It's also a great place to spend the night before your cruise. I've done it twice, always enjoyed my stay and exploring the ship!

SadieN Posted October 3, 2016 #6 Share Posted October 3, 2016 Why do you say Carnival? Do you think it would not work when we get off of NCL Jewel? Carnival homeports out of The Dome, next to the Queen Mary. On rare occasion other CCL cruise line ships (Princess, HAL, Cunard etc) will port here. Never read of a Princess cruiser able to get on the Queen for free. All other lines port at San Pedro. 7 miles and an approximate $20 cab ride away. Vibrantvirgo81 Posted October 7, 2016 #8 Share Posted October 7, 2016 So we just finished this. It's free to walk around, the actual tour is still extra. The history tour is $11. They will also hold your luggage for you and there's a free shuttle to the Aquarium. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

We took advantage of this last year on a Princess California coastal cruise that stopped at San Pedro, all we did was show them our Princess cruise card and we got in for free to see the Queen Mary.
