Rising Costs and Decreased Services

MIne still had live band at the casino & Red Frog pub.

Mostly it is the show-band/orchestra that I was referring to. The big band music at the show was always a highlight of the cruise for me. Fortunately they still have live music in other venues, either a 5 piece band or soloists. However, I still really miss the full show band/orchestra that used to sit in the pit right in front of the stage.

I hear they have brought back the Lido deck steel drums on some ships but I have yet to experience it.

We cruise for about the same fare's as we did in 1997 when we first started to cruise. I really don't care about all the extra's they charge for. I suppose that I am one of the few that has received OBC back. That was back when we gave the envelopes and they were not charged to our account. I still spend very little on the ship, I don't drink so that saves a bundle.

But I do miss the service. I would pay additional for the elegant and wonderful service at the DR. Our first cruise, we had a waiter, who had four tables, asst waiter who had eight tables, coffee, tea, water server and grunt and a drink waiter for the bar area. Now they have more tables for fewer waiters. That is the difference I miss.
