Royal iQ App cost for text/talk feature

I have read on other threads that the cost for the text/talk feature of the Royal iQ App is $7.95. Is that per phone/device? If I have it on my phone, does my DH have to pay the $7.95 for his device also? Or is the cost per cabin? Also, is the cost dependent on the length of the cruise? Thanks in advance for answers to my many questions!

The cost is per device, not by cabin. It's a one time charge covering that device for the entire length of the cruise.

No, you can use the RoyalIQ app without buying an internet package.

 

Note that the RoyalIQ all will only let you text and talk to other RoyalIQ app users on the same ship.

Seems like it would be worth it to be able to find people. Of course part of fun of cruising is not carrying phone around
