Shopping hours in Downtown Charlotte Amalie

We will be docked in Crown Bay from 11am-7pm. We are planning on going to Saphire Beach as soon after docking as we can, and staying until around 4pm. We would like to go downtown and do some shopping after that... what time do the downtown shops close (it will be a weekday). Also - can we have the taxi from Saphire drop us off downtown on the way back? Or do we have to go back to our starting point-Crown Bay and then catch another cab to the shopping area downtown?

Most of the stores in town have traditionally closed at 5 but a few stores may be open later if ship is in late. The stores at the dock usually stay open until all aboard time.

 

Taxis at Sapphire will drop you off in town.
