We will be on Allure in just a few weeks. I typically buy 1 or 2 cartons of cigarettes on the ship. I smoke some and bring some home. My issue is that we have a very very early flight (8:45)... yes I know. Anyhow... I guess my question is about how they have been handling customs? I kind of recall people saying they were directing people to a customs line before debarking based on a list of purchases provided by the cruiseship.

 

Has anyone bought any taxable items lately on the ship and been able to disembark without standing in a customs line?

I doubt they are going to single you out for inspection for purchasing a couple cartons of smokes. The ones who were singled out spent large $$$$ on jewelry.

If I'm not mistaken, you can bring one carton of cigarettes back into the country duty-free, so if you only buy 1 carton you shouldn't have anything to worry about.
