Guaranteed cabins

I can get a good deal on a balcony cabin if I am willing to take a "guaranteed" cabin, meaning the ship will assign my cabin. There is always the chance that I will end up with an obstructed view. Is the gamble worth it

Only worth it if you would be happy with the worst cabin location possible, GTY's are usually what ever cabins sell out last. On a side note, if you live in the US or Canada you should be allowed to change cabins with no charge as long as you stay in the same cat. If the savings are less than a 100.00 it's not worth it..happy cruising

Only you can decide if the gamble is worth it. How disappointed will you be with an obstructed view? How much is the discount?

If you book a gty balcony, you won't get assigned an obstructed oceanview. Or perhaps I misunderstand the issue?

As others have said, only you can decide if it's work the risk...

 

I don't book GTY because I want to make sure I'm on a deck with cabins above and below. You know what your priorities are, so if you'd be happy in the "worst" cabin of the category, then go for it. If you wouldn't be, determine if the risk is too much for you. :p
