JES11583 Posted October 6, 2016 #1 Share Posted October 6, 2016 Hey Cali locals: flying out to LA on 10/21. How are the crowds at Disneyland on the weekends? Is there a difference between Saturday and Sunday? Thanks so much! Sent from my iPhone using Forums
SadieN Posted October 6, 2016 #2 Share Posted October 6, 2016 Its California ;) Disney is always crowded. Sunday can be a bit lighter, but not by much.
JES11583 Posted October 6, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted October 6, 2016 But I read it's not crowded like Orlando Disney... or can it even be compared? Haha Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Philob Posted October 6, 2016 #4 Share Posted October 6, 2016 It's not the crowds, it's the line waiting times for the rides. "Finding Nemo" went from a walk up to a 1 hr line because of "Finding Dory" Download one of the Disneyland "wait time" apps now. Then check out the wait times for the rides this coming weekend and the next, it'll give you an idea.

Disneyland has changed their passports somewhat so it is hard to figure what the block out dates are now. If you get to the park when the open and go directly to the hot rides you can generally get quite a few in before the park gets really busy. You also have the fast pass. Get that for another ride, say on the other side of the park, do the first section then head to your fast pass section. You can get a lot of rides in but you do need to have a firm plan in place. Standing around after each ride to decide your next move will cost you valuable time.
tinybiny Posted October 7, 2016 #6 Share Posted October 7, 2016 Saturdays are usually busier, but the park hours may be longer on Saturday. With the Halloween themes, it will be busy both days. I went for a few hours last Sunday evening. There was a car line at the parking lot. We waited in line for about 45 mins at the ticket booth. Once we finally got in, there were a few rides that we wouldn't even consider because the wait was over an hour and the fastpasses already ran out. Other popular rides were only about 40 mins wait. People kept piling into the park and we reached a point where the crowds were overwhelming for me and we had to leave. I didn't expect that on a Sunday evening. JES11583 Posted October 7, 2016 Author #7 Share Posted October 7, 2016 Thank you all. If we go on a Sunday and go in the morning, about how long would the drive be from our hotel at LAX to the park? Sent from my iPhone using Forums

JES11583 Posted October 8, 2016 Author #9 Share Posted October 8, 2016 That's not too bad. That day would be dedicated to Disney and have no where to be until our cruise the next day. Thank you :) Sent from my iPhone using Forums
