Hootchiemama Posted October 14, 2016 #1 Share Posted October 14, 2016 Husband and I are cruising on 14 November on celebrity solstice. This is our first cruise and we want to know if we should get our drinks package now or wait til we get on the ship? Any thoughts? tassie cruiser Posted October 14, 2016 #2 Share Posted October 14, 2016 (edited) http://boards.cruisecritic.com.au/showthread.php?t=2412671[/url http://boards.cruisecritic.com.au/showthread.php?t=2412671 Just saw this on the Aus & NZ boards. We have previously purchased before but haven't had this happen, so guessing it's only newish. We are also on Solstice this December but had drinks package inc so thank goodness don't need to worry about it, plus it's quite expensive now with the US dollar being what it is. Last cruise we bought the package the dollar was better, so wasn't quite as expensive. Maybe best to wait till you onboard, they may even have some sort of special or something. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using Forums If you have on board credit, you can use that once on board to pay for the drinks package. Just go to any bar and you can buy it. There is no price reduction on board. If you buy it early, you would not, obviously, be able to use on-board credit to buy it. On our upcoming cruise, my mother in law booked with a classic drinks package included in her fare. Once we're on-board, we'll upgrade her to the premium package using the on-board credit she got as part of her fare.
helen haywood Posted October 14, 2016 #4 Share Posted October 14, 2016 Sometimes its a good idea to wait till you get on board to see if you think its worth it to purchase. Give it a day or so and see. You can purchase the package, pro-rated, anytime up to three days before the end of the cruise.
