waterbabe40 Posted October 18, 2016 #3 Share Posted October 18, 2016 Sadly, according to RCCL's web site, the Connoisseur Club (cigar lounge) located on Deck 5 will be turned into a card room/library after November 14, 2016.

I really do not understand why they are getting rid of the cigar lounges. They are well used, and one would think that having a designated room for people to relax and smoke, would decrease on the amount of smoking in other areas, where smoking is banned. I am not a smoker, but I do not approve on certain aspects of the "war on smoking". If they want to take the attendant out of the room, so they are not exposed to smoke, that is fine, but keep the small room for guests. Norwegian seems to be the only line that still makes it a priority to keep adding the lounges to the ships.

It will take a lot of cleaning to remove the smoky smell I am sure.
Cigar King Posted October 18, 2016 #6 Share Posted October 18, 2016 I will miss the cigar lounge when we are next on the Adventure. That being said, I can totally see why they are removing it. It's in a bad location if your goal is to keep the smoke out of the non-smoking areas. Personally I wouldn't mind moving it to a better location, or failing that keep the front doors locked and use the back door. That would mean people would enter from the outside and that would help keep the smoke from contaminating the interior spaces.
TheCount Posted October 18, 2016 #7 Share Posted October 18, 2016 Going to miss the Cigar lounges on board. However, when we sailed Celebrity, the Sunset bar on the upper back deck , to the PORT side (if memory is correct) allowed smoking including Cigars. Evening drinks, under the stars and a fine Cigar, makes me want to sail! OH! We are, in a week or so! Get the Zaccapa 23 or Balvenie 14 ready. :D

Maybe it will be like the smoking rooms of old in the airport.... need not light up, just walk in and breathe.... then leave...
