Scrappygrrl Posted October 25, 2016 #1 Share Posted October 25, 2016 Hi all - We leave in 2 weeks for the Kdam. My son just fractured his growth plate in his wrist. We're getting a waterproofing cast thankfully, but wondering if there any restrictions on attending the kids club with a cast? Thanks in advance! Scrappygrrl Posted October 26, 2016 Author #2 Share Posted October 26, 2016 Also wondering if there is any prohibition on being in pools with a waterproof cast? I hope not, but the way liability is these days...
alwaysfrantic Posted October 26, 2016 #3 Share Posted October 26, 2016 make sure you get the Gortex liner, not just the waterproof cast!
Scrappygrrl Posted October 26, 2016 Author #4 Share Posted October 26, 2016 make sure you get the Gortex liner, not just the waterproof cast! Thanks! We did! (Though I may wrap it/cover it anyway when he swims because just draining the water from the liner after his shower was a pain!)
Old As Dirt Mom Posted October 26, 2016 #5 Share Posted October 26, 2016 I can't imagine there would be any restrictions or prohibitions about participating in Club HAL nor about swimming in the pool with a cast, but perhaps you could call HAL's Access and Compliance department at 1 800 547 8493 to get further information? They are open Mon-Fri 8am to 5pm ( U.S. Pacific Time).
Rare kazu Posted October 26, 2016 #6 Share Posted October 26, 2016 I don't want to be a negative nilly, but it would be a good idea to call HAL and make sure that a cast is a non issue. I don't think it is for Club HAL, but I don't believe their medical centre is geared to remove casts. If you are on a short cruise it is probably a non issue, but I know for my cruise it was a big issue. Aside from the hopes of better healing, it was one of the reasons I decided to do the brace that my surgeon recommended. Since it could be removed easily, HAL would have no issues with me boarding with it on. Best to check to be sure though.
