Window/box balcony

Booked a gaurenteed balcony rate. I think I have been assigned one of those window box type balonies on the front of the ship. I read some negativity somewhere about them. Can you still see if you are sitting or must you stand to see out?

Do you mean one of the hull balconies?

I sailed on a hull balcony on a Carnival cruise - and while it is a different line the experience should be similar....

 

DH and I loved our hull balcony. No problem seeing out while sitting. The sight lines are a bit limited by the hull opening but not enough to impact our enjoyment of the balcony. It actually made the balcony feel more private to use. We enjoyed it very much.

If you google Hull Balcony and your ship name you should see a few images come up to show what they look like. :)

Techgirl, I remembered that poster "SDMike" did a nice work up on what decks/cabins have hull balconies. He even labeled the cabins on pictures. I found this:
