Help Me Sort Out Divina Beverage Packages

Trying to find the right fit for Divina beverage package... we have a mix of ages and consumption levels from 8yo to 50+yo. Some drinkers, some a drink a day, some ice cream loving kids, one gelato junkie... Any and all help finding the best package for us would be appreciated!

Have you taken a look at the beverage coupon books?. That may be a better fit for you.

I did look at the coupon books, but one of our travelers hates to be "annoyed" and I am sure she will find them too much work, inconvenient, etc. I guess I want the easiest plan w/the most value... am I asking too much? (LOL)

Let the one who gets "annoyed" pick her own package. The rest of you select what works best for each person. We did the various coupon books - worked fine for us and best price as we don't drink enough for the other package. Good thing about the coupons is you can share them. IMHO

To add to the above suggestion: If your "annoyed" cruiser decides to go with a drink package because they find it more easy and convenient for them, everyone in their room must also purchase that same drink package.

Coupons are the way to go. Very little annoyance. All you have to do is remember to take them with you. Bob

Total up your groups drinks per day, multiple it by the length of your cruise, and buy that many coupons. If the cost is more than the price difference for an Aurea cabin then upgrade. Have your high maintenance friend get their own unlimited package.

Also with a face value of $4.60, a voucher is wasted on a cup or cone of gelato at $3.50.

We also made good use of coffee cuddle vouchers, co:cool:st $1.75 each and worth up to $4.50, used to go to the cafe doge in the afternoon and have a fancy coffee, a lemon cello and a 60c cake.

My husband and I have an Aurea Suite this time around since it includes a drink package and other perks but last year we bought the coupons and as already stated, you just have to pay attention to the actual cost of the item you want to use a coupon for as some of them are actually cheaper than the value of the coupon.

OK experts, Could you also help me to decifer or make a little more clear for me the difference in a couple packages. And if I'm perceiving the values correctly. I'm copy/pasting from what I see online:

What is the difference with these? Is it for Cocktail package you must remain sitting at a bar when you order the drink? So I couldn't order a drink and walk away? Can I get a glass of wine with the cocktail package? I also see this package as actually slightly higher per drink price.

 

Am I missing something.

 

Also, Could I purchase 2 coupon books of either of these packages if I wanted to?

 

I'm traveling with my teenage son. I will buy him the Canned Soda Package. I personally can drink more than 18 alcohol drinks in a 7 day cruise. I know I won't drink enough to make purchasing the More-for-Less package Classic All Inclusive Package advantageous, mainly because it defaults my son to the $161 package for his age and he does not do smoothie/ non alcohol type drinks. He's a milk and water kid at home and gets to splurge on cruises with soda packages.

 

My calculations if I buy 2 coupon books of 18 -$84 each, 1 - Canned soda - $30 and even a coffee cuddle - $28. would bring our beverage total to $226. Now all this is contingent on what I can get with that 18 coupon package. If I can get some basics like wine,pina colodas, daquiris, margaritas, mudslides, vodka/juice, then that is all good for me. I don't need top shelf liquors.

Ok, attached is a photo of a voucher, the beer price is actually $5.50 not $5.00. They are good for pretty much anything you might want to drink. We used them for pinacoladas, strawberry daiquiris, Miami vice, a crazy blue thing, wine with dinner, G&T, prosecco, prosecco cocktails, martini and liquor coffees. The bar menus asterisk what you can't order. Cocktail vouchers are limited to the cocktail menu, you can wonder about with drinks, they prefer you to have a poolside plastic glass.

Also they are a way for your 18-20 yo to get a drink, there's no quibble about buying multiple drinks with multiple vouchers on 1 guest card.

They aren't good value for ice cream, as a large gelato or cone is only $3.50.

Do all these voucher books have to be purchased prior to boarding or can they be purchased onboard?

 

Just trying to make plans and a budget.

 

Now to research that teen voucher/gift card thing I saw mentioned on another thread

We bought them before hand, it's easy enough, you just go to the casino, show your ship card and sign for them. They are all waiting in envelopes for you. There will be more hassle buying them on board on day one plus you'll be dinged an extra 15% service charge.

You can buy the voucher books at any point in the cruise, so no need to buy everything on day 1.

We have decided on the Premium package, just to avoid any hassle or exclusions... it also seems to fit our demographics the best as the kids will not have to think about whether the gelato is a coupon or a room charge, they can just get it, same it seems with pastries and other goodies! (She-who-doesn't-like-to-be-annoyed (my co-traveler) is also paying for a significant portion of the trip, so her wishes will be honored and we will get the easiest plan.)

 

Now, for the premium package, will it be on our stateroom card/key/etc (we are used to DCL's "key to the world" type card where one card does it all) or will we have to carry multiple cards for various functions?
